•Achalasia- It occurs when nerves in the esophagus becomes damaged.As a result it becomes paralyzed and eventually loses the ability to squeeze food down into the stomach.
•Anorexia- Lack of appetite ime person has no desire to eat.
•Aerophagia- Excessive air swallowing,which goes into the stomach.
•Angiodysplasia- It is a common cause of GIT bleeding. Angiodysplasia is an abnormality of blood vessels of GIT in which blood vessels of mucosa/submucosa of GIT is dilated and turtuous.
•Bullemianervosa- In this patient eat too much and then purge,trying to get rid of the extra calories by inducing vomiting by inserting fingers in the mouth.
•Bloating- Distended abdomen due to retention of gas in the stomach, intestine.
•Dysgeusia- An altered taste of mouth.Also referred to as parageusia.
•Diverticulitis- Inflammation of small pouch in digestive tract (diverticulum)
•Halitosis- Bad foul smelling breath is called halitosis.It can result from poor dental health , poor oral hygiene.
•Hawking- An audible effort to clear the throat by expelling phelgm.
•Hematemesis- Bleeding from the upper gastrointestinal tract which comes out from mouth and this vomitus is coffee colored because of the food + acid present in stomach.

•Hematochezia- Passing of fresh red colored blood from the anus.
•Haemorrhoids- Swollen veins on the lower part of rectum and anus.It is also know as piles
•Melena- Black tarry stools which occurs as a result of upper gastrointestinal bleeding.It is often difficult to flush away because of the alteration and degradation of blood by intestinal enzymes.
•Nausea- It is an uneasiness of the stomach that often occurs before the actual vomiting.
•Odynophagia- Pain while swallowing.Ex. in Tonsilitis
•Polyphagia- Increased appetite
•Phagophobia- A fear of eating / swallowing food
•Retching- Feeling as if you need to vomit but cannot vomit.Also know as dry heaving
•Sialolethiasis- Salivary calculi/stones
•Sialadenitis- Inflammation of the salivary gland
•Sialorrhea- Excessive salivation
•Tenesmus- Pain while defecatingcating plus feeling of incomplete evacuation of bowel
•Vomiting- Expelling out the stomach’s content from mouth.
•Xerostomia- Dry mouth
